CERTIFIED CLUB REFEREE PROGRAM

Article Date : July 04, 1999

Croquet Canada, in conjunction with the USCA, has established a program to certify members to become "Club" level referees. The program is essentially the same test program as used in the United States and consists of a written test that has to be passed prior to taking the on-court test. To pass the test the applicant may miss no more than 7 of 28 questions. To study for the test the applicant should be familiar with all the rules of the USCA six wicket game. For the on-court practical exam the emphasis is on recognition of faults, correct wiring determination and other proper procedures required to be conducted by referees in the course of their duties. Up to 1.5 hours are required for each section.

Paul Emmett is the examining referee for the tests in Canada and may be contacted for examination appointments at (416) 222 0448 or by e-mail at pemmett@infinitesolutions.to. An administration charge of $50.00 is made for the test.
