STRONGEST FIELD EVER IN 1998 Canadian Open Croquet Championships June 24-28 at Toronto Cricket Club | ||

Toronto, Ontario,Canada: David Oppenshaw from England, ranked 14th in the world
will be part of one of the strongest fields ever for the Canadian Open
Croquet Championships, scheduled for June 24-28 at the Toronto Cricket
Skating & Curling Club.
For the second year in a row, the Canadian Open will be contested under international rules play, and United States Croquet Association distinctive American six wicket rules. Both games are played on a six-wicket court with minor variations in each style. Also in the championship field of 24 players will be the Canadian champion, Leo McBride. The annual Canadian/U.S. Challenge Series will also be played during the tournament on Wednesday, June 24th. Four venues have been chosen for the championships and the public is welcome to watch as spectators. These venues include Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club, Leaside Lawn Bowling Club, North Toronto Lawn Bowling and Croquet Club and Glebe Manor Lawn Bowling Club.
