We play all the year round here unless the grass is covered with water as can happen after a tropical downpour (it happened yesterday). We'd love to hear from you.

Dec 18 2000 Maharishi Hashishi Ali Ganja (maharishihashishi@beer.com), Belfast, NY
Please let me enlighten you. I am the most exalted Maharishi Hashishishi Ali Ganja. I surfed into this site while playing an intense game of croquet on my hemp fibre magic carpet with my good friends James and Ravi Brownyard. We were singing old Beatles tunes such as "Your Mallet Should Know" and "Why Don't We Do It In The Rough" while we were playing this great game. But then the croquet Christmas caroling came to an end when we came upon this wonderful site. We had found heavenly bliss. Alas we were home. Our voices were silenced in awe. Then out of the silence we exclaimed "Rejoice for croquet heaven has been found, let us hold our mallets to the winds", and so it was, and so it shall ever be. Oh somminah sominay!

I need your help. To offer a different venue for raising funds for charity, croquet strikes me as the one to consider since we all have played it once or twice. Would the game of croquet be the right venue and if so, how would "the tournament" be structured to provide a fun and relaxing way of raising funds? Thank you for your anticipated support. Sincerely, Timothy

Jun 11 2000 Mrs Mary Badger (mbadger@omninet.net.au), Albany Western Australia
I have been playing Croquet for a bit over two years and have still not managed to be proficient. I love this game because you need brainpower as well as bodypower. I play at the Gomm Park Croquet Club Inc. One of two clubs located in Albany, Western Australia. Our membership is very small (17) we are trying hard to involve young people in the game, but it is very difficult as the young of today have so many options. I would love to hear from anyone who has innovative ideas to increase playing numbers. Albany has a population of about 25,000.

My husband and I do not as yet play Croquet in Canada, but enjoy playing it in New Zealand during the winter months at home. There are dozens of local clubs there as grass grows very well. You should really add the excellent NZ Croquet Ass'n website to your links section: http://www.croquet.org.nz

I write for The Spirit, a Bothwell, Ont. weekly newspaper and I was told about Gord Lunn's involvement in the tournament in Scotland. Gord is originally from this area and has family here, so we would like to know how the team is doing. I will check in from time to time to see if you've posted the results. Thanks.

Is there a chance we could more recent Croq-Can results, as well as those for other tournaments? Other than outdated results, you have done a great job in presenting croquet to surfers. Keep up the good work! Nikki

Jun 19 1998 Richard Roach (rroach@caribsurf.com), Barbados W.I.
Croquet was first played in Barbados many years ago by the owners of the Sugar Estates but today it is only played by a small number of people at private homes. Our rules have evolved over many years. The game as we play it is very tactical with 4 persons on one team vs 4 on the other.
Jun 13 1998 Brian Cumming (cumbus@sentex.net), Elora , Ontario
Great page...good to see it up and running again ! I found the results section a little difficult to locate from the menu. Keep up the good work ! Cheers Brian
